Many of our customers do small mileages exclusively in the city, Rolls-Royce CEO Tom Purves told Car magazine. Moreover, Rolls-Royce might be forced to offer an electric Phantom to compete in certain global markets. Several regions are toying with the idea of carbon-dioxide limits, which would prevent Rolls-Royce from selling their cars in certain areas.

Advertising fall frustrates APN hopes
Sydney Morning Herald, Australia
APN boss Brendan Hopkins said earnings at the newspaper publisher and radio broadcaster would fall 12. 6 per cent in 2008, more than three times the decline forecast only three months ago. The downgrade adds to signs that demand for advertising has lessened dramatically during the upheaval on global financial markets. APN earnings before one-time charges are now expected to be about $148 million, the lower end of market forecasts, and down from $169. 4 million last year. Net income will be weighed down further by costs for redundancies related to a restructuring program completed this year. APN also forecast flat earnings for 2009.
