Midwest region. Previously Thiel was a senior account executive with

Prior to Gorilla Nation Media where he grew revenue 59%

analyst for Arkansas Tech University Behavioral Sciences division.

CBS, Viacom downgraded on ‘weakening’ advertising market – MarketWatch

Pyykkonen pointed out that CBS has more exposure to the deteriorating ad market than most of its peers, with a wide array of television, radio and outdoor display units. Although the CBS television network has experienced strong ratings this season, Pyykkonen told clients that ad rates and sales “will face negative headwinds through the rest of this year and for at least the balance of 2009. ”

At Viacom, the analyst expects such cable channels as MTV, VH1 and Nickelodeon to “face a challenging advertising market for the foreseeable future. ”

Pyykkonen does not expect to see ad rates increase in the fourth quarter or during 2009 at Viacom’s cable channels. On a brighter note, Pyykkonen does anticipate a strong fourth quarter at Paramount Pictures, both at the box office and in home entertainment, fueled by “Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa” and the DVD releases of “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull” and “Kung Fu Panda.
